I thought this was an active chat room but it looks more like a forum.

Day one right here. I feel raw and sore and in a lot of addict pain. It has brought me to this point though and I am hopeful. I hurt my leg yesterday and although I would like to get out to some face to face meetings I was hoping these forums would help. I was in OA but I haven’t been working my program properly. I need to be in AA as well I think.

Well done that’s an amazing start! Just remember 1 day at a time. If I find myself getting bored I try and do something/anything…needless to say my garden is looking awesome!
I’m 32 and know if I have another drink I will probably hit a lower rock bottom than I already have done. It’s sad to say that but it’s the truth.
Good luck with this…[Read more] -

Hi Katy,
I went to my first meeting las Friday and have been to 2 more since. I find them to be extremely helpful. I know what you mean by boredom. Saturday night I sat home and watched movies and thought to myself hmmm this feels weird doing this without wine. But I didn’t drink. I woke up Sunday bright and early, worked out and went to a…[Read more]

Hi I’m Katy and I’m a recovering alcoholic. My drinking also started off like this and to be honest it really spiralled out of control about 8 months ago and I did lose my job, very nearly lost a lot of people close to me and the depression was so severe it really just led to more drinking just to numb it out.
One of my main “triggers” was…[Read more]

I am 100% new at this. Looking to see what is here to help me get a start to alcohol recovery. I need the help terribly bad and I’m looking for any and all options to stop my drinking habit all together for good! Let me know what has helped any of of you, please.

I guess I’m new to this. Not ready to go in a lot of detail. I know I need to stop and had terrible dreams last night. ReAlly horrible and feel like crying over everything. I’ve drank once in the past week. That’s huge for me but I’m ready not to drink again

I appreciate your replies. I think the drinking is from boredom. My boyfriend and I live together and he works a lot, which makes him tired a lot. So him and I will sometimes both have a drink, he’ll go to bed super early and I’ll stay up in continue. Next thing you know, hours have passed and then the next day I feel depressed, I don’t want…[Read more]
